Sugarbirds; 2 species endemic to southern Africa. Long-tailed, nectar-feeding birds closely associated with Protea flower heads. Males have extraordinarily long tails used in display. The Cape Sugarbird and Gurney's Sugarbird. Ecologically important pollinators of Protea and other fynbos flowers.
