Nicatoridae

Nicators; 3 species of secretive, medium-sized bush-birds endemic to sub-Saharan African forest. Superficially resemble bulbuls in plumage. Loud, melodious songs. Inhabit dense forest understorey and thickets. Previously placed in Pycnonotidae (bulbuls) but found to be an independent lineage.
