New Zealand wattlebirds; 2 surviving species—the North and South Island Saddleback, and historically the Huia (extinct 1907). Medium-sized black birds with colorful fleshy wattles at bill base. Endemic to New Zealand. The Huia was famous for extreme sexual bill dimorphism; female bill twice as long as male.
