Shy Albatross, 90–99 cm, wingspan 220–256 cm, is the largest mollymawk, breeding only on three Tasmanian islands. White body, grey back, narrow black-and-yellow bill. Near Threatened; the most common albatross in Australian waters; affected by longline bycatch and periodic poor breeding seasons.

Grey-headed Albatross, 81 cm, wingspan 220 cm, breeds on South Georgia and other Southern Ocean islands. Grey head, black-and-yellow bill, white body. Holds record for fastest level bird flight — 127 km/h recorded. Endangered; declining due to longline bycatch. Circumnavigates the Southern Ocean when not breeding.
