Medium dove, 27–30 cm, brown above with a pale grey head, white forehead, pinkish breast, and white tail corners conspicuous in flight. One of the most widespread Neotropical doves, found in open woodland, dry forest, and scrub from Texas through Central America to northern Chile and Argentina. Frugivore and granivore on the ground. Least Concern.
