Chatham Islands Pigeon / Parea (Hemiphaga chathamensis), 55 cm. Largest Hemiphaga; iridescent green-and-bronze with white underparts. Endemic to Pitt Island and southern Chatham Island (New Zealand). Inhabits temperate forest. Frugivore. Endangered; fewer than 600 individuals, recovering under intensive management.
