About These Birds

Small quail-dove, 25–28 cm, with a white forehead and face contrasting with a grey crown, rufous-brown back, and pale buff underparts. Endemic to Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti), inhabiting highland forest. Terrestrial frugivore and granivore. Near Threatened due to ongoing deforestation.

Medium dove, 27–30 cm, with warm rufous-brown upperparts, a black neck collar, and a deep orange-red breast. Endemic to the highland plateaus and montane grasslands of northern Nigeria and Cameroon. Granivore of grass seeds and cultivated grains. Poorly studied and localised range. Least Concern.
