Apresenta uma banda acinzentada característica no pescoço. Habita florestas tropicais densas de baixada. Pouco conhecida, sendo registrada principalmente através de especímenes antigos.

Restricted to arid coastal scrub and dry forests of northwestern Venezuela, Colombia, and the southern Caribbean islands (Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire). Feeds on seeds and cactus fruits. Least Concern.
