Apresenta uma banda acinzentada característica no pescoço. Habita florestas tropicais densas de baixada. Pouco conhecida, sendo registrada principalmente através de especímenes antigos.

Confined to the forests of the Lesser Sunda Islands (Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, and adjacent islands). Frugivore of small forest fruits and berries. Formerly considered conspecific with the Amboyna Cuckoo-dove. Least Concern.
