About These Birds
Eastern Bronze-naped Pigeon
Medium-sized pigeon, 28–31 cm, with a rich chestnut back, dark bluish-grey head, and a distinctive iridescent bronze-green nape patch. Males show a white throat streak. Inhabits montane and lowland forests of eastern Africa from Ethiopia to eastern South Africa. Frugivore, feeding on figs and forest fruits. Least Concern.
