About These Birds
Double-banded Plover
Borrelho-de-duplo-colar (Charadrius bicinctus), 17–19 cm. Dois colares peitorais distintos, o superior preto e o inferior castanho, fronte branca, partes superiores acastanhadas. Habita praias e margens de rios na Nova Zelândia e migra para a Austrália no inverno. Alimenta-se de invertebrados.

Spot-breasted Lapwing: 28–30 cm, Ethiopian highland endemic lapwing with a black head and breast spotted white, and red legs. Restricted to high-altitude moorland and montane grassland above 1,800 m in Ethiopia. Insectivorous. Sedentary; rare and little-studied. Declining due to overgrazing and agricultural encroachment.
