Pombo-esmeralda (Chalcophaps indica), 23–27 cm. Pequeno pombo com asas e dorso verde-esmeralda brilhante, cabeça e ventre cinzas, bico e pernas vermelhos. Habita florestas e matagais tropicais do Sul e Sudeste Asiático até a Austrália. Alimenta-se de sementes e frutas no solo. Voo rápido e baixo entre a vegetação.

Medium dove, 27–30 cm, with warm rufous-brown upperparts, a black neck collar, and a deep orange-red breast. Endemic to the highland plateaus and montane grasslands of northern Nigeria and Cameroon. Granivore of grass seeds and cultivated grains. Poorly studied and localised range. Least Concern.
