About These Birds
Rufous-shafted Woodstar
Beija-flor-de-Jourdain (Chaetocercus jourdanii), 6–7 cm. Macho com garganta róseo-rubi brilhante, partes superiores verdes metálicas, cauda escura com plumas externas longas. Habita florestas úmidas e bordas de floresta no norte da América do Sul e Trinidad. Alimenta-se de néctar e pequenos insetos.
Rufous-booted Racket-tail
A small hummingbird (8-10 cm plus tail rackets) found in Andean cloud forests of southeastern Peru and Bolivia at 1,200-2,200 m. Males have rufous leg puffs instead of white. Recently split from Booted Racket-tail. Nectarivore of montane forest undergrowth.
