About These Birds
Liverpool Pigeon
Extinct island pigeon, known from a single specimen in the World Museum Liverpool and a painting. Believed to have inhabited Pacific islands, possibly the Marquesas or Society Islands, based on morphology. Dark grey with white spots. Extinct; likely died out in the 18th or 19th century from hunting and introduced predators.
