Blue-grey upperparts; chestnut-spotted white flank bars; grey crown; rufous-brown collar with white spots; reddish-orange bill and legs; white face. Closely resembles Red-legged Partridge but collar spotted.
Germain's Peacock-Pheasant
Male dark brown densely covered in iridescent green ocelli on wings and graduated tail; reddish orbital skin; buff-scaled face. Female similar but ocelli smaller and less iridescent; dark brown overall.

A medium-small Phasianidae pheasant (~454 g) of evergreen and semi-evergreen forests in southern Vietnam and adjacent Cambodia. Males are cryptically brown, patterned with violet-green ocelli. Shy and seldom observed; forages on the ground for seeds and invertebrates. Vulnerable from ongoing deforestation.
