A Perdiz-de-barbary (Alectoris barbara) habita matagais de pedras e áreas semi-áridas com vegetação esparsa no Marrocos, Argélia, Tunísia, Líbia e nas Ilhas Canárias. Mede aproximadamente 32-35 cm. Caracterizada pela garganta laranja-avermelhada e flancos barrados. Alimenta-se de sementes, insetos e partes vegetais. Uma espécie adaptada a ambientes áridos e semi-áridos. Classificada como Pouco Preocupante pela UICN.
