Um icterídeo de banhado da família Icteridae, encontrado em áreas úmidas dos Andes e do Cone Sul da América do Sul. O Sargento (Agelasticus thilius) habita banhados, margens de rios e áreas alagadas no Chile, Argentina, Bolívia, Peru e Uruguai. Mede aproximadamente 19-20 cm. Os machos são pretos com ombreiras amarelas, enquanto as fêmeas têm listras marrons. Alimenta-se de insetos, sementes e pequenos crustáceos aquáticos. Constrói ninhos em juncos ou totoras. The Band-tailed Cacique is a large oriole-family bird of the family Icteridae found in forest edges and clearings in western Amazonia. Weighing about 96.2g with a wingspan of 37.6cm, it has a distinctive pale bill and banded tail. It nests colonially and feeds on fruit, insects, and nectar.
