The Agami Heron is a near-threatened, strikingly patterned wading bird with a wingspan of about 55 cm and a weight of around 528 g. It inhabits shaded forest streams and swampy areas in Central and South America, where it stands motionless before striking with its exceptionally long, sharp bill.
Australasian Bittern
The Australasian Bittern is a Vulnerable large heron found in freshwater wetlands and reed beds across Australia and New Zealand. Weighing about 1,166.5g with a wingspan of 64.1cm, it is a cryptically streaked brown bird that freezes motionless with its bill pointed skyward when threatened.
