O quebra-ossos é um grande abutre das cadeias montanhosas da Europa, Ásia e África. Reconhecível pelos tufos de penas negras sob o bico que formam uma 'barba'. Especializado em comer ossos, transporta-os a grande altitude e soltam-nos sobre rochas para os partir e aceder à medula.
