About These Birds

Um gavião pequeno da família Accipitridae, encontrado nas florestas da América do Sul. O Gavião-de-perna-vermelha (Accipiter erythronemius) habita florestas tropicais e subtropicais da Argentina, Bolívia, Brasil, Paraguai e Uruguai. Mede aproximadamente 22-28 cm. Caracterizado pelas pernas e coxas avermeladas características. Alimenta-se principalmente de lagartos, insetos e pequenas aves. Anteriormente considerado uma subespécie do Gavião-miúdo (Accipiter striatus). Classificado como Pouco Preocupante pela UICN.

The Black Baza is a small, striking raptor of South and Southeast Asia with a bold crest, black upperparts, and white underparts barred with chestnut. It inhabits tropical and subtropical forests, including forest edges and secondary growth, from the foothills of the Himalayas through Myanmar, southern China, and the Malay Peninsula. It feeds primarily on large insects, frogs, and lizards, often hunting in small groups.
