The Blackcap Babbler is a medium-sized, gregarious babbler of sub-Saharan West and Central African woodland and savanna, with adults showing a distinctive black cap, white face, and brown-streaked underparts. It inhabits dense shrubs, forest edges, and thickets, often near water. It is highly social, moving in noisy chattering groups and feeding on insects, berries, and small fruits.
