O beija-flor-anjo-de-coleira é um pequeno beija-flor das florestas nubladas andinas do sudoeste da Colômbia e noroeste do Equador. O macho apresenta partes superiores verde-brilhante e uma chamativa banda peitoral iridescente. Alimenta-se do néctar de flores nas florestas nubladas e matos da floresta andina. A fêmea é mais apagada. A desflorestação na sua área de distribuição restrita é uma preocupação para a conservação.

Nectarivore of high Andean shrublands; hovers at dense Ericaceae clumps. Takes small arthropods gleaned from mossy branches.
