Cuco-europeu (Cuculus canorus) — 32-34 cm. Parasita de nidificação obrigatório cuja fêmea deposita um ovo em ninhos de outras aves. Distribui-se pela Europa e Ásia, migrando para África. Canto inconfundível 'cu-cu' anunciador da primavera europeia. Plumagem cinza com ventre barrado. A fêmea imita a aparência de gavião para distrair as aves hospedeiras.
