Mutum-de-Albert (Crax alberti) — Mutum criticamente ameaçado endémico das florestas tropicais do noroeste da Colômbia. Macho negro com carúncula basal no bico; fêmea acastanhada barrada. Habita florestas densas de baixada. A intensa desflorestação e caça fez dele um dos cracídeos mais ameaçados do mundo, com menos de 2500 indivíduos.

Male is glossy black with white belly and curly black crest; distinctive bright blue bill with no yellow knob. Female is barred black-and-chestnut with curly crest; blue bill separates it from other Crax curassows.
Habitat & Range
Distribuição geográfica
Endemic to northwestern Colombia in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and nearby ranges. Found in humid forest at 200-1,000 m. Critically endangered.
Diet & Feeding
Frugivorous; eats large fruits, seeds, and invertebrates on ground of Colombian lowland forests. Critically endangered.
