Gaivina-preta (Chlidonias niger), 22–26 cm. Plumagem preta com asas cinzentas no adulto reprodutor, bico preto. No inverno, acinzentada e branca. Habita lagos, pântanos e rios de água doce na Europa, Ásia e América do Norte. Migra para os trópicos. Alimenta-se de insetos e pequenos peixes.
