Um pintassilgo colorido da família Estrildidae, encontrado nas savanas do sul da África. O Frisada-de-cabeça-vermelha (Amadina erythrocephala) habita savanas áridas, matagais e bordas de floresta do sul da África, da Namíbia ao Zimbabwe e Botswana. Mede aproximadamente 13 cm. Os machos têm a cabeça vermelha brilhante, enquanto as fêmeas têm a cabeça castanha mais discreta. Alimenta-se de sementes de gramíneas e outros materiais vegetais. É social, vivendo em grupos. Classificado como Pouco Preocupante pela UICN.
