Uma perdiz da família Phasianidae, encontrada na Arábia Saudita e no Iêmen. A Perdiz-de-Philby (Alectoris philbyi) habita encostas rochosas e arbustivas no Hejaz e no Asir, montanhas da Arábia Saudita e no noroeste do Iêmen. Mede aproximadamente 32-35 cm. Estreitamente relacionada à Perdiz-de-cabeça-preta. Alimenta-se de sementes e material vegetal. Uma espécie com distribuição restrita. Classificada como Pouco Preocupante pela UICN.

Differs from other Alectoris: black face and throat contrasting with white supercilium; grey-brown upperparts; bold chestnut and white barred flanks; red bill and legs; grey breast. Endemic to SW Arabian Peninsula.
Habitat & Range

Endemic to the mountains of southwestern Saudi Arabia and northwestern Yemen (Asir and Hijaz escarpments), at 1,500–3,000 m.

Feeds on seeds, shoots, berries, and invertebrates in rocky terrain of the Arabian Peninsula.
