Uma gralha-do-paraíso de porte médio da família Ptilonorhynchidae, encontrada nas florestas da Papua Nova Guiné. O Gato-de-boca-branca (Ailuroedus buccoides) habita florestas tropicais baixas e de montanha na Nova Guiné e em algumas ilhas satélite. Mede aproximadamente 27-30 cm. Caracterizado pelas manchas brancas na garganta. Alimenta-se principalmente de frutos e, ocasionalmente, de insetos. Diferentemente da maioria das gralhas-do-paraíso, não constrói bowers. Classificado como Pouco Preocupante pela UICN.
