O Tordo-de-cauda-castanha (Acanthiza apicalis) habita uma variedade de ambientes áridos e semi-áridos, incluindo matagais, mallee e florestas de eucalipto em toda a Austrália Ocidental e central. Mede aproximadamente 10 cm. Caracterizado pela cauda castanha distinta e partes inferiores listradas. Alimenta-se de insetos e pequenos invertebrados, forragendo ativamente na vegetação baixa e folhiço. Classificado como Pouco Preocupante pela UICN.
