Cinclosomatidae

Quail-thrushes and jewel-babblers; ~12 species found in Australia and New Guinea. Named for their beautifully jewel-like spotted underparts. Terrestrial; walk and run on the ground in dry forest, mallee, and rocky areas. Closely related to psophodids. Taxonomic position refined by molecular studies.
