소형 비둘기로 체장 약 23cm이며, 갈색에 검은 날개 무늬와 밝은 눈 주위 피부를 갖는다. 안데스 산맥 콜롬비아에서 아르헨티나까지 고지대 암석 지대와 관목지에 서식한다. 씨앗을 먹는다. 관심 필요 종이다.
