소형 비둘기로 체장 약 22cm이며, 옅은 갈색에 분홍빛 흰색 아랫면과 눈 주위 밝은 노란색 피부를 갖는다. 안데스 산맥 페루, 볼리비아, 칠레, 아르헨티나의 건조한 고지대 암석과 관목지에 서식한다. 씨앗을 먹으며 바닥에서 생활한다. 관심 필요 종이다.
