Melanesian Scrubfowl
Brownish-grey throughout; bare bright red facial skin contrasts with greyish plumage; small pale crest on forehead; underparts pale grey. Legs large and yellowish; tail short and rounded.
Biak Scrubfowl
Dull brownish with darker brown upperparts; bare reddish periorbital skin; small pale crest on forecrown; underparts grey-buff. Similar to Dusky Scrubfowl but restricted to Biak Island, with slightly paler flanks.

소형 머리매로 체장 약 30cm이며, 갈색 몸통에 회색 머리와 붉은 얼굴 피부를 갖는다. 비스마르크 제도와 솔로몬 제도의 숲에 서식한다. 발효 무더기에 알을 낳으며 발효 열로 부화시킨다. 관심 필요 종이다.
