대형 뉴기니 고유 뜸부기로 체장 약 50cm이며, 올리브 갈색 몸통에 큰 부리와 긴 다리를 갖는다. 뉴기니 저지대 습지와 맹그로브 숲에 서식한다. 씨앗, 과실류, 소형 무척추동물을 먹으며 잘 날지 않는다. 관심 필요 종이다.
