올리브갈매기는 남아메리카 대서양 연안에 서식하는 갈매기이다. 아르헨티나와 우루과이 해안에 주로 분포하며 회색 등과 흰 몸이 특징이다. 물고기와 갑각류를 먹으며 번식기에는 작은 섬과 해안 절벽에 번식한다.
