How to Tell Them Apart
Indian Peafowl
Males (peacocks) have iridescent blue-green plumage and an enormous train of elongated upper tail coverts with eye-spots. Females (peahens) are brown and cryptically patterned.

Male uniformly dark olive-brown with slight greenish gloss; blue orbital skin; no crest; unadorned appearance relative to other Lophura. Female slightly paler rufous-brown; both sexes lack vivid markings.
