기라쿠쿠(36–42cm)는 남아메리카 동부의 개방 서식지에 분포하는 사회성 강한 뻐꾸기다. 특유의 볏과 주황색 부리를 지니며 4–20마리 무리 생활을 한다. 탁란을 하지 않고 공동 둥지에서 함께 새끼를 기른다.

콧수염매뻐꾸기(Hierococcyx vagans, 28–31cm)는 매처럼 생겼고 갈색 윗면에 연한 아랫면과 적갈색 줄무늬를 지닌다. 말레이반도와 인도네시아 삼림에 서식한다.
