Lesser Roadrunner (Geococcyx velox) — 46–52 cm. Similar to Greater Roadrunner but smaller with a more streaked breast. Found in dry scrub, open woodland, and arid valleys from Mexico to Nicaragua. Non-parasitic; carnivorous; eats insects and small vertebrates. Shares the same terrestrial running lifestyle as its northern relative.

소형 뻐꾸기로 체장 약 22cm이며, 갈색 윗면에 흰색 아랫면, 짙은 눈 줄을 갖는다. 뉴기니와 몰루카 제도 숲에 서식한다. 과실류와 무척추동물을 먹으며 숁기성 탁란성이다. 관심 필요 종이다.
