수컷은 독특한 라켓 모양 끝을 가진 연장된 외부 꼬리 깃털을 가진 7–8cm(수컷은 긴 꼬리 라켓 포함) 소형 벌새로 베네수엘라에서 기아나를 거쳐 아마존까지 습윤 저지림에 서식한다. 삼림 수관부에서 꿀을 먹는다.
