버첼의 뻐꾸기 (Centropus burchellii) — 37–42 cm. 밤색 등; 검은 머리와 꼬리; 흰 아랫면; 흰 눈썹선. 남부 아프리카의 무성한 풀밭, 숲 가장자리, 정원에 서식. 탁란을 하지 않으며 빽빽한 풀밭에 큰 돔형 둥지를 짓는다. 잡식성; 울음소리가 비 오는 날씨와 연관되어 '비새'로 불리기도 한다.
