가봉 뻐꾸기새(Centropus anselli) — 38-43 cm. 황갈색 밤색 등과 날개, 검은 머리와 아랫면, 단계적 꼬리. 가봉과 콩고 분지의 울창한 삼림과 늪 초목에 제한적으로 분포한다. 비기생성이다. 잡식성으로 물 근처에서 자주 먹이를 찾는다. 이전에는 검은목 뻐꾸기새의 아종이었다.

아프리카에메랄드뻐꾸기(Chrysococcyx cupreus)는 아프리카 중서부 우림 지대에 서식하는 소형 뻐꾸기입니다. 수컷은 선명한 청동빛 녹색으로 빛나며, 탁란을 통해 번식합니다. '라이징'이라 불리는 특유의 소리를 냅니다.
