수마트라 땅뻐꾸기(Carpococcyx viridis) — 52-58 cm. 위면은 청동빛 녹색, 아랫면은 창백한 황갈색이며, 맨 붉은색과 노란색 얼굴 피부와 긴 아래로 굽은 부리, 무거운 체형이 특징이다. 심각한 위기종이며 수마트라 저지대 삼림에 국한된다. 비기생성 지상성이다. 잡식성이다. 매우 적은 기록으로 세계에서 가장 희귀한 뻐꾸기 중 하나다.

Lesser Roadrunner (Geococcyx velox) — 46–52 cm. Similar to Greater Roadrunner but smaller with a more streaked breast. Found in dry scrub, open woodland, and arid valleys from Mexico to Nicaragua. Non-parasitic; carnivorous; eats insects and small vertebrates. Shares the same terrestrial running lifestyle as its northern relative.
