1955년 콩고 민주공화국 동부 이톰베 산지에서 수집된 단 하나의 표본으로 기술된 매우 희귀하고 정보가 부족한 쏙독새. 이후 확인된 기록이 없다. 산악 삼림 서식지. 멸종위기종으로 분류되어 있으며, 생태는 거의 알려져 있지 않다.
