Weighing about 12.65g with a wingspan of 11.8cm, it has finely barred brown plumage. It skulks in dense low vegetation, feeding on insects gleaned from leaves and stems.

Black-backed Cisticola

The Black-backed Cisticola is a small, grassland-dwelling warbler found in the damp grassy areas and wetland margins of West and Central Africa. It has a black back with buff streaking and warm rufous tones on the head and wings. It perches atop grass stems, singing persistently, and feeds on insects and small seeds.
