몸길이 43~45cm. 뻘어즈슴새보다 크며, 쐐기형 꼬리와 옅은 날개 밴드가 있는 전체적으로 그을린 갈색. 소코트라 지역 남아라비아해 섬에서 번식하며 인도양에 분포합니다. 준위협(NT) 종으로 연구가 미흡합니다. 오징어와 물고기를 먹으며, 바다에서 황혼과 야행성입니다.
Balearic Shearwater
30–38 cm. Brown above; variably dirty-white to brown below; often shows brown smudging on flanks. Breeds only Balearic Islands, Spain. Critically Endangered with fewer than 3,000 pairs; faces extinction. Migrates to NE Atlantic; threatened by predators, fishing bycatch, and tourist development.
