About These Birds

Buff-tailed Coronet

베네수엘라에서 페루까지 해발 1,500~3,000m 안데스 운무림에 서식하는 중간 크기의 벌새(11~12cm)입니다. 버프 오렌지 꼬리가 있는 녹색 깃털. 산악 숲과 가장자리의 꿀을 먹습니다. 머리꼭지의 녹색 홍채 때문에 '관을 쓴'(coronet)이라 명명되었습니다.

Ruby-throated Hummingbird

The ruby-throated hummingbird is the only breeding hummingbird in eastern North America. These tiny birds beat their wings about 53 times per second and can fly backwards, sideways, and even briefly upside down. They make an extraordinary non-stop 800 km crossing of the Gulf of Mexico during migration.
