소형 벌새로 체장 약 8cm이며, 수컷은 보라색 윗면과 흰 왕관을 갖는다. 파나마와 코스타리카의 카리브 경사면 숲과 숲 가장자리에 서식한다. 꽃의 꿀과 소형 곤충을 먹는다. 관심 필요 종이다.
