소형 벌새로 체장 약 10cm이며, 수컷은 초록 몸통에 청록색 목과 파란색 꽁지를 갖는다. 콜롬비아 동부 고지대에 서식하는 고유종이다. 꽃의 꿀을 빨아 먹는다. 취약한 상태이다.
