회색꼬리벌새는 코스타리카와 파나마에 서식하는 벌새이다. 수컷은 자주색 목 반점과 회색 꼬리가 특징이며 산악 지대의 숲에서 서식한다. 꽃의 꿀을 주식으로 하며 중앙아메리카 산악 지역에서만 발견된다.
