쌍색매는 멕시코에서 중앙아메리카를 거쳐 볼리비아와 아르헨티나까지 분포하는 중형 삼림 매이다. 회색 윗면, 흰색~적갈색 아랫면, 짙은 삼림에서 새와 소형 포유류를 사냥하기에 적합한 긴 다리를 가진다. 삼림 내부에서 은폐된 횃대에서 먹이에 기습을 가하는 은밀한 포식자이다.

아프리카뻐꾸기매는 약 261g으로 사하라 사막 이남 아프리카 숲에 서식합니다. 매 모양을 하고 있지만 주로 곤충, 도마뱀, 카멜레온을 먹습니다.
